Passenger Assistant Induction

We provide Passenger Assistant Training at our venue in Wembley or on customer’s site as required.

Course Modules

Passenger Assistant covers transport by minicab/taxi, standard minibus and accessible minibus as required.  The accessible module includes assisting passengers with disabilities, assisting wheelchair users, assisting children, young people and adults as required.  The accessible module also covers wheelchair use, restraining wheelchairs and passengers in the vehicle and the use of crellin harnesses via theory, demonstration and practical exercises and final assessment.

  • Module A: The role of the passenger assistant- This is the foundation module for all passenger assistants. This module enables drivers/carers to understand the role of the passenger assistant

  • Module B1: Passenger awareness and assistance-This modules covers awareness of passenger needs and how to assist, looking at individuals who don’t use a wheelchair

  • Module B2: Assisting passengers who travel in wheelchairs- B2 covers similar aspects to B1 but focuses specifically on passengers in wheelchairs

  • Module C1: Supervising children and young people with special needs- For PA’s who work with children or young people with special needs

  • Module C2: Working with adults who need care and supervision- PA’s who work with vulnerable adults

  • The other modules you complete will depend on the needs of the people you work with

Venue Parking
There is a pay to park system in place, which requires obtaining a code from the trainer on the day.  You can also park locally on non-event days.  Please check before parkinh.

Who should attend  PATS (The Passenger Assistant Training Scheme)

Drivers and Passenger Assistants, share in a duty of care to their Passengers and that to enable Passenger Assistants to work effectively, and exercise that duty of care, they receive relitive training in relation to their roll whether minicab/taxi, standard Minibus and accessible minibus assistants.

Course equips trainee with knowledge of :-

  • improve personal and  passenger safety

  • help to improve  passenger comfort

  • meet  legal and contractual responsibilities

  • understand and meet the needs of  passengers

  • develop additional skills and a wider knowledge of their work
